Twitter comps & posting company names

Not knocking anyone are a few of us that post Twitter comps and we all do it differently, and I am grateful to all posters & grateful for all wins
However many of us that use twitter constantly will possibly have already entered, even if we haven't had a chance to post, by just putting a RT link with no company name we don't know who the company is or if we have already entered (even by clicking on the link if it is a new RT & given number of comps we enter we may not remember), so could possibly dupe a one entry only, especially if the company have several RT posted and we both use different RT links.
One I posted last week where you had to follow 2 companies, was posted a day later as a RT link only for 1 of the companies but it was the same comp, it was multiple entries so not an issue, but could be an issue with other comps.

I agree - I don't post many twitter comps and only enter a selected few (as I don't understand the whole twitter thing completely) but I often wonder - is this a one tweet only comp or are we allowed to tweet daily, etc? I don't always think they are posted with clear entry instructions. I know with the Facebook comps, people are starting to add 'App' or 'Like and Share' or 'Just need to Like the Page' in the title - which is great and a real help. But the Twitter comps are often posted with just the title of what the prize is and a link for the retweet.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I find that Twitter comps are rarely clear on the instructions so it's not surprising that tweets/follows/other instructions etc may be missed ...0

Twitter is a bit of a minefield, I do add 1 entry only if I manage to locate T&C's, but I think we should be posting company names to avoid duplicating entries, and also so they show up in the search as a RT link only doesn't if they have done several posts and we each choose a different RT to post as the URL is different so it doesn't show up when searching.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

I was thinking that we should post the names too.
Just to add: Some you just need to retweet the message, but sometimes it is a specific message that you need to look for, so I've started going to the full profile to check so I know I've retweeted the right tweet.
Even when I've looked I've found the majority don't include t&c's at all.0 -
TBH it's not just twitter where people leave out the company nameproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

twitter comps are a bit weird, i often find ones that say RT and follow to win, but there is no close date, no terms, no other rules, i often think some of these competitions just run forever without giving away a prize lol
i have run a couple of competitions, and i try to make it a bit more clear, when it ends, also i post a link to the competitions page on my website explaining in more detail the rules
i feel like alot of the twitter comps never actually end, or it maybe that i get spamed by them so often it just feels that way hehe0 -
To slide off the path somewhat, when people post Twitter comps where they have to reach a certain number of followers. When that target is reached and they set another target normally with a different prize I do wish people wouldn't tag them onto the bottom of the OP. Maybe it's my board OCD but I see it as different target+possibly different prize=different comp and should be posted as such.
Minivent overGolly, I've got the newt pregnant...
