Statutory Maternity Pay|contrat or payslip rules?

Hello,
I have a 30 hours per week contract with my employer and my salary is at the rate of £6.19 per hour.
In fact, since May 2012 I have always worked more than 40 hours per week and I have paid Taxes and National Insurance.
I wonder if my Statutory Maternity Pay will be calculated on what is written on my contract or on the Total Gross Pay that I have in my monthly Payslip.
Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hi Costa
SMP is calculated by taking an average during the relevant earnings period. Your contracted salary is irrelevant, and your average can include overtime, commission etc0 -
