GP's have virtually nothing on him, he is going through formal diagnosis now but they reckon can take up to two years, school is heavily involved and out reach worker and ed. psych but they only see him intermittently at school, however his DLA was awarded because of all of that .. i make him sound terrible,, he has some brilliant moments and the good bits are amazing.. but he is a big lad, very strong and poss has some dyspraxia in there which is why he cant judge spaces, speed etc so when he breaks stuff, its good and proper, nothing that can be fixed.
lol washing machines .. omg! i would be in dire straits if that happened. mine takes phones aparts, television controls, he is obsessed with batteries at the moment and also sellotape, constantly sellotaping stuff and labeling it .. its quite funny to be part of really but combined with everything else, its all been somewhat over whelming recently.
Ah well .. it has to be done and thats that.
I think what the CAB lady was saying was that if I dont claim the benefits that i am entitled to then the money I should have been receipt of, the OR will see as money I dont need and will request it? but its still not how I have read it on the government insolvency website.
I can see mucho vino passing by my lips over the coming months :-/0 -
Hi, haven't posted on here or a while but saw your post and couldn't read and run!
I was discharged a few months ago and can feel your pain, the process is scary and confusing and as many times as people tell you it's not going to be as bad as you think it won't help until you are safely out the other side (which you will be).
I doubt you getting an IPA whilst on benefits it is important though that you convey the situation to the or they are human, official but human..
Also re the car we were using a car which my parents had bought and owned, we were registered keepers and maintained the car, it was worth more than the limit so a real concern but the OR had no interest in it as it wasn't ours. We had proof of this lined up but they didn't ask just said it wasn't our asset so of no interest to them. Hopefully you'll get the same response.
Good luck it sounds like you need a break and although tough br is often just that, a chance for a new start and certainly for me, an education I will never forget!
By the way don't worry about the diet .. There is plenty of time to work on that when there is less going on...!

Regarding your son's Statement?
Keep at them, keep nattering at them, even try harassing them.
Make as big a noise as you feel up to.....complain to your local counsellor, complain to your GP....and if the GP won't help, complain about that as well.
It is important for your son's future provision to over-emphasise every aspect...make things sound/seem far worse than what they are.
There is nothing the various departments like more than to put cases on the back burner, if no hassle is received!
The departments concerned will have finite budgets.....and will attempt to delay things fro as long as possible because of that.
You need to force them to take action.
Find and join specific websites for support and advice on how to make things progress quicker.
I know...been there, done that, still got the tee-shirt!
[as a result of my XOH's noise-making,{credit where it's due!} we got for our son, maximum hours support....and now he is in a private school [LA pay for it..]....with again, full support...and he loves it! Making huge leaps of progress! If we hadn't done what we did, he would be languishing on the back burner of a mainstream secondary school, with but little in the way of a future.]No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0
