I have some blue Librerty fabric so I'm gonna make a garter like this - http://www.100layercake.com/blog/2011/05/18/diy-liberty-of-london-garter-from-the-purl-bee/

I'm not really the garter type but I'm definitely the Liberty fabric type so it evens out ;)

Haven't thought about the rest yet!

  • Some great ideas there! I have no idea what to have and since we're getting married abroad with no family or friends (that I know of anyway) coming with us as we're not telling many people before we go, I'm struggling for a couple of ideas.

Old - a necklace belonging to my great great grandmother who 'went with the years', she was born in 1900. It was given to my nana by her t the same time as another necklace which had a letter in the box dated 1973 in which she explains that one necklace was given to her at 21! The one I'm wearing isn't quite that old but nearly!

New - dress, earrings, flip flops (yes you read right) and undies

Borrowed - no idea. I've asked mum to see if my granny has anything that I could attach to my bouquet but she isn't really a jewellery or brooch person and doesn't have much

Blue - pass! I have quite big legs so not really wanting a garter. I thought about just getting a few blue crystals and incorporating them into my bouquet but I'm not sure. I have the 'I do' crystals for the bottom of the shoes but I don't think they will fare well on the flip flops!!!

    I'm stuck!!! Hehe

My knickers were my "blue". They were £3.50 from Asda.

My old was my necklace - I "inherited" it from my Gran on my 30th birthday (she lived another four years), and she had inherited it from her aunt who had been given it on her wedding day.

My new was the usual dress/shoes/tiara etc.

My borrowed was the sixpence in my shoe.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

  • My something blue was a bit of ribbon on my garter... Blue didn't go with the theme so had to be something discreet :)
Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j
  • I'm stuck on something blue as well! If I can't think of anything else I'm going to embroider our names and the date into my dress in blue thread.

Am not having a garter so thats out.

Old is my Nana's beaded bag

    New is my dress etc

    Borrowed is Mum's pearls

    But yep, stuck on blue...

P.S. I love this necklace! Stunning!

    Mine is my colour theme!

I REALLY wanted blue for my theme as it is my fav colour OH wanted purple.

It all came down to my dress being the deciding factor as I could have it in purple tartan or blue. Turned out the blue wasn't as nice as the purple so OH got his own way :(
