Advice Please Regarding CCJ on Credit Report

Hi
Please could you advise. I have a CCJ on my credit report that is 4 years old for around about £350.
I stupidly at the time ignored the demands as I gave up trying to tell the company that I did not receive the goods I ordered, which resulted in this CCJ.
After finding this website I decided to check my credit report as I have always been denied any form of credit since.
Am I right in thinking it will dissapear from my record after 6 years or should I pay it (even though I did not receive the goods) just to clear my record as I would like to apply for my first mortgage in around 12 months time?
Also, I once applied for an egg card which I never received, only the pin number and this is showing on my credit record which I think is unfair as I always told egg I never received the card and no money has ever been spent on it either! I disputed this with experian but they contacted egg who have refused to amend my record - again this was 4 years ago - Is there anything I can do about this?
Thanks in advance for any advice

First off yes the ccj will disappear off your record in six years, but why did you not dispute it when it went to court. You could always try to clear your name now and get it removed by asking the company in question to supply proof of delivery.
As to the egg card, has ANYONE spent on the card, is it showing as a nil balance on your report. If so why not just contact egg and ask them to close the account???Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Regarding the egg card, as I said before no one has spent on the card and I have disputed this but they will not change my record to close the account. That is all I asked of them but they dispute my claims that I never had the card!
Regarding the CCJ, I can still try and dispute this then, even at this stage?0 -
I am unsure to be honest whether you could dispute it or not. It would depend on how desperate you are to clear your credit file. If you go to https://www.consumeractiongroup.com there are some interesting ideas with regard to defaults and ccj's. I just wonder what have you got to lose! Ask them for proof of delivery and see what happens. Send all correspondence by recorded delivery and see what happens.
As to the egg card, I don't think it matters if you never received the card, you haven't got it now. Again write to them recorded delivery and ask them to close the account. Keep a copy of your correspondence. In a month check your file again and if the account is still showing on there then get in touch with the credit agency (I found https://www.checkmyfile.com good for dealing with disputes).
I don't really understand why they won't let you close your own account!Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
