Hello all

Just wanted to give you some feedback on OR interview today, which went better than I had expected :)

I did the interview on behalf of myself and my husband and it was with a very pleasant examiner from OR office.

He firstly asked for a brief summary of what has led us to this point, key events etc..

We then went through SOA.

Car

His recommendation is that car is exempt from BR and we should receive a letter in next few days to confirm this. He allowed this as my husband works funny hours so no other way of getting to work.

Income/outgoings

He said some of the expenditure would not be allowed by court (swimming for son for example) but as I am due to have 2nd child soon, he increased some of our allowances based on us being family of 4. We therefore have no IPA :j both myself and husband went BR together.

He said he will do a re-assessment of income/outgoings in about 8 months time.. I am going on mat leave soon and he said he will not need to re-assess when I go on mat leave as income will be bit less, although we won't have child care to pay for, he said increased outgoings for nappies etc will balance this out.
It works quite well with mat leave as I am goinng back to work at the point of re-assessment.

He said if my husband does any odd bit of overtime, no need to let them know unless it is regular and a large amount ( we are allowed to keep say £50-£100). I did add his current regular OT into our SOA.

Nil tax code - I didn't know this but it only applies for the current year that you are BR so as tax year is soon to end we will prob not be affected by this.

The only docs that he wanted from us was confirmation of child care cost and IVA paperwork. I was worried that our landlord being told we are BR but examiner confirmed that he will not be writing to them as we do not have rent arrears.

It went alot better than I thought.. fingers crossed we are discharged this time next year!!

Feel very releived now that this part is over :) Apols for any spelling mistakes - typing this very quick!

    YAY great news!!!

And I am soooooooooo pleased that you didn't get lumbered with an IPA. I think that is the worst fear for many people.

Glad it all went well. I was also worried about the OR interview, but they're not too bad. :)
