Nikon D90 (Body only)- £398.99 at Amazon

This is a great price for a quality camera. Although a few years old now, it is still very much admired by all who use it.

It is a step up from beginners DSLRs, and in the case of Nikons, it has a built in focus motor for the lenses, which the D3000/D5000 series doesn't. That means it will autofocus with older lenses, as well as the more modern ones.

I bought one last year, for a £100 more, and I love it. I also have the D5100, which has better video function, but I find myself using the D90 the most.
