arent we discussing the big white elephant in the post?!

if u have 8 periods of sick in 10 months would you want the op working for you?

did you offer to make up the days you missed for 'unforeseen emergancies'? all 6 of them?

if ithad been the 1 day for caring for your wife im sure the company would have been understanding but 8 periods in 10 months isnt acceptable in any industry
  • 12 days is excessive even though you used 1 day holiday. That holiday was meant to be booked at the company's convenience, not yours, so that its business may run without a shortage in staff. I see 12 days as a lot even if it's spread over 3 years.
  • Its weird how its deemed unfair if an employer decides they no longer require your services and gives notice yet an employee can simply decide they no longer require their employers service at any time they decide.

    Double standards really.

I can see the analogy, but an employer makes an investment and has a cost association such as job advertising, agency fees, IT setup, business cards, etc, etc.
Therefore to let people go usually is not a whim or decision made lightly. Continuing absences (for whatever genuine reasons) are a disruption to business and also causes strife amongst other workers.
