Nestle Ski yoghurts 38% price rise.

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place. I'm fairly new to posting here. Nestles have increased the packaging of their ski yoghurts by adding a cardboard sleeve around the four pack of yoghurt. Obviously a backward step environmentally, and timed to co-incide with fortnightly rubbish collections being introduced more widely. The price has been increased from around £1.08 a pack (often cheaper at Asda etc), to £1.49, the new RRP, the price Tescos and elsewhere are selling them for now. I've contacted Nestles to complain (tel 0800 63785385), and left a message with Watchdog too. I hope others complain, as a 38% price rise by Nestles is outrageous, and I don't think they should get a way with it. I'm leaving them on the shelf for now. Thanks for letting me rant!

I think we as consumers should start returning excessive packaging and packaging that can not be recycled to the supermarkets for them to deal with and so that they and the other maufacturers will be encouraged to use more environmentally freindly packaging.
There was something in the news about Asda piloting a scheme in some of their stroes to trial this but I do not see why we as consumers should have to pay through domestic refuse charges for packaging that we have not direct control over. Obviously you could just not buy the products but surely it makes more sense for the maufacturers and supermarkets to use packaging materials that are recycleable as far as possible.
Our local recycling collection does not accpet yogurt pots or Tetra Pak etc. as they have to be sent to Noway for recycling and that costs too much so surely the packaging should be changed to be smething that can be recycled in a cost effective way !!!!!
It is good to have a rant and imaging the look on a customer services persons face if I dumped all my environmentally unfriendly rubbish on their desk does make me smile !!!
As for the price increase - they are prob. going to be BOGOF and hence the price rise !!!Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -
The cardboard sleeve around the 4 pack is ridiculous.
They are on '1/2 price' at Sainsburys (74p) and Waitrose (75p) at the moment.
The other week ASDA was doing a great deal on 8 ski yogurts for about the same price but can see that pack size on the internet sites now, have Nestle abolished these multi packs and only selling 4 packs now?0 -
i dont know if its just me thats noticed, but lots of items that i buy regularly in tesco have increased in price over the last few weeks, to name just a few
value kitchen roll were 99p now £1.18
chilled fruit juices were 78p now 96p
cadburys snack buiscuits were 68p now 84p
this is just what i can remember off the top of my head, its not just a few pence increase its quite alot
has anyone else noticed?dont wait for your boat to come in, get in a dingy and row out to it!!!0 -
tesco price rises
this is tesco's plan for world domination opening stores of all sizes in all areas
sqeezing all other competition and putting them out of business which limits
our choice of where to shop so then tesco can increase prices and line their

My gripe isn't specifically with Tesco, although I would obviously like them to reduce the price. Nestle have increased the RRP by a whopping amount, so my little local shop which used to sell them for £1.08 are now selling them for £1.49. The Asda price is fantastic.0
