Hi
My husband is looking at going bankrupt, he currently has debts of 65k of which 39k is joint debt with myself.
I am not looking to go bankrupt yet and have set up agreements with the creditors for what I can pay.
My question is when my husband completes his SOA for the official receiver how do we put down household bills? For example our rent is £575 pcm, does he put down £575 or does he put down half of £575 as Im in the household too.
The same question applied to council tax, electricity, gas etc
Many thanks in advance.

That bit in bold is crucial. Those creditors will pursue you for the full amount - less any amount which happens to be paid out from your OH's bankruptcy.
For the SoA, put down your OH's share of the bills. If you both earn much the same, then the bills would be split half and half.
If your OH earns a lot more, or a lot less, than you, then the bills would be split proportionally.
That's how the OR will look at it anyway - even if your personal household arrangement happens to be that your OH (or you) pays all of the bills.0 -
Thanks for replying Coolcait.
Will they creditors still pursue me even though they already know my situation and have currently got standing orders set up to pay them a small amount each month?
I will be looking to go BR too, but at the moment we can only afford one set of fee's so thought it best hubby does first as he has the higher amount of debt.
With regard to earnings, he brings home £1350 monthly and I bring home £800 monthly.0 -
Probably easier for you to go BR at the same time. If you are both going BR stop paying the creditors to get the fee's together faster. The sooner you both do it the sooner it wil be over.0
