MSE News: Government unveils £75,000 care bill cap

I am looking for advice of how to avoid paying carehome fees, gifting the property to children dosen t sound like it will work.
This means that if one of the children divorces it may be necessary to sell the home as part of a divorce settlement. If they have debt problems, their creditors can seek their money from the property, though it's not very likely that a sale would be forced if it is shared equally between many children. Or the children could just decide to sell it because they want to use their money for something other than owning a property for you to live in.
But the big question is, once you've given it away, where would you plan to live? Are you happy to rent somewhere?
Say your planning succeeds. The council now places you in one of the cheapest local places, because that is all they are obliged to do. Expect the lowest available standards for meals, living conditions and care.
If you instead plan to use your money, you get to choose where you will live, if you're still of sound mind, and that can be a more pleasant place than just the cheapest end of the market.0
