Tesco Refund/Exchange policy

Hi,
Hope I am posting this in the right place!!
Bought a dress from Tesco last Thursday and have now decided it's not very flattering and I'd like to take it back. The tags are still on but I think I've thrown the receipt away (I know, stupid me!), have turned house upside down looking for it!
My question is, if I print off a copy of my bank statement with the transaction will they accept that as a receipt and give me a refund? I bought the dress with one other item so the transaction total isn't the same as the dress price?
Am I likely to get a refund, an exchange/vouchers or nothing at all?!

Thanks in advance!

You should be able to return it with no problems within 28 days of purchase.
With the tags still on it you'll probably find that the Customer Service desk will allow you to either get a refund, exchange the item or give you a gift card with the value of the item on it.
If they were to say they need a receipt then they can get you a copy of the original from their system. It helps if you know the date and approx time of purchase and also what else you bought on the same transaction.
No need for Bank statements etc.
Just go back to the store you bought from and ask at the customer desk for the refund. If they're difficult just politely ask for a copy of your original receipt.
TBH I don't think you'll have any problems.0 -
just a note as i discovered last week, if its a large store you need to go to desk in clothing area if it has one, queued up for 10 mins at main customer services to be told that i had to go there for clothes refund.

You shouldn't have a problem but I'd take it in a Tesco bag so it doesn't look like you've just picked it up off the rail!0

My local Tesco has long queues at Customer service desk too, must be a national thing to under single worn out looking and lacking a desire to be helpful member of staff on these desks. No problems with customer services at any other supermarket like ASDA or Sainsburys, been treated well and problem/enquiry sorted quickly.0 -
In addition to taking it in a Tesco bag, I really would take a copy of your bank statement if you can get hold of it for free.
It's just some extra proof that you did actually purchase it and didn't 'lift' it then try to take it back for a refund, conveniently in a Tesco bag.
I'm not implying anything by that comment BTW - I just know all the tricks from working in retail many years ago and this kinda thing happened loads!
No offence meant
