I suggest that you call the Acas Helpline.
One of my concerns is that your age may be a factor in the decision, in part perhaps because of the possibility of you obtaining pension rights. Age discrimination is unlawful but an employer can try to get a balanced work force.
You'd also want to seek information about how you score in any formal redundancy assessment process, since you can object to such assessment scores if you think they are wrong.
Better to discuss these issues with Acas so you know how best to act.0
