many years ago when i didnt have a clue about what to do with my money i bought some yankee candles.
yes they smell nice etc, but .... they have been funnelling when i burn them, so there is this huge mass of candle wax that is not being burned and the candle is a waste.
can i use this wax in an oil burner type thing so that atleast i will get the use of all this wax?

Hi
Yes you can scoop out the wax and burn it in a tart burner, just mak sure you don't put to much in so it ober spills!
We burnt some Christmas candles this way that tunneled, and could still smell them round the the house.'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

If you have any more to use, to stop funneling let the candle burn across the whole jar before blowing out. This gives an even burn all the way down with no waste.[STRIKE]Debt 2010 £74,000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Debt 2012 £42,000[/STRIKE] Debt Jan 2013 £38558 Baby boy born 19/05/20120

Funnily enough. Was wondering just today whether I could use the wax like a wax tart. Thanks for asking the question OP!0

I've done this with every Yankee candle I've ever had and still they funnelled, not to mention the one that stained my ceiling so much we had to repaint
Won't have them in the house anymore0 -
I put mine in a pot of hot water, just under the boil, so that the wax melts down again. Sometimes you can even pick out the wick and make sure it stands proud of the wax again. Or I put either the wick from, or a whole plain white tealight in the centre, and as it burns the wax warms up and releases it's fragrance. Obviously, take care with hot wax and flames! They are expensive, but I love them! Just got to get as much bang for your buck as possible.0

I sometimes use one of those 'lampshades' on my jars which allows for the candle flame to burn consistently. If you flame is waving about it is unstable and is is being affected by draughts and that will give it under performance.
When I first have a new jar I burn it for at least four hours and making sure that the wax has melted from edge to edge. Other than that I don;t have tunnelling problems.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Yankee candles were on QVC a couple of weeks ago. You need to let the jar candle burn for minimum of 3 hours so that wax is even. Worked for me.0

Lol I just did this last night!!
I bought 'quite' a fewof the votive (?) candles (bigger than a tea light, no foil bottom?) form clintons in the January sale, they're lasting ages, but again, had a load of wax left in the bottom of my glass holder.
So last night, I prised the wax out with my pen lidand put it on a small saucer and popped on top of my gas fire and my room was all nice smelling again (it's the 'soft blanket' scent) I think the wax will last quite some time by doing this, so my bargain candles are going to last me even longer than I thought :T
