No matter how much you need a car, and most people do; if it's valued at 6 grand, no way will the OR let you keep it. They will most likely take it and sell it and give you about a grand of what they make to buy a cheaper one. But that isn't guaranteed; you may need to provide proof that you *need* a car.0

yeldray1971 - It sounds like you are saying that, the day they collected your car, they left you a cheque at the same time. Is that what you meant? I am only asking as I am waiting for OR to ring me about my car. I thought it was a HP agreement, but the document said 'Fixed sum loan agreement' so she said she needed to see the agreement and if it was a loan agreement she would send someone to collect it and sell it. She has already agreed I can get another car, but no mention of giving me any money from the sale of my car.0

Hi sammie28,
Yes, the car was collected and a cheque posted through my letter box at the same time. In my case the OR had instructed the services of an independent collection company to collect my car. The company then contacted me to arrange collection and to ask in whose name the cheque should be made out to etc.0 -
Oh I see, yes she did say she would arrange for someone to collect the car. I figured that I would have to wait till after they had sold it to get money. (That's if i get any)
Thanks for your help.0
