What do you class as not expensive? Have you tried Aldi, Lidl, local fishmonger, Farmfoods?

I meant reasonable priced smoked mackerel. I am not working at the moment so I am on budget. May be someone heard of some offers? Thanks

Do you want under £10 a kilo or under £2 a kilo? 'Reasonably priced' is a matter of opinion or relative to your income not an absolute. What is the best price that you have found that people are trying to better?

TBH you will likely find canned or fresh mackerel cheaper than smoked if you are on a very tight budget. Tesco sell whole fresh mackerel on the fish counter for £5 a kilo, they also have 400g cans in tomato sauce for ~90p.

Again, what price are you trying to better? Again have you tried Aldi, Lidl, local fishmonger, Farmfoods? If you refuse to answer people end up wasting their time looking at or posting prices/ offers you are already aware of.

  • in Lidl's it's about £1.60 (guessitamite) for smoked and is lovely (chilli or peppercorns) which I used to buy.

also, in Lidl in a tin, it's about 59/69p which is the cheapest out of all the main supermarkets. I think in B&M might be as cheap too.

Asda sell pre packed smoked mackerel fillets, they are in packs of 285gr for £3 or 2 packs for £5. I buy when reduced and freeze them, last time I purchased I paid £1.41 per pack needless to say I bought quite a few, and have now decided to get some out for dinner today, yummy.
