Hi guys, I was wondering if anybody had any gift ideas for my Goddaughter to be, any unusual gifts maybe? I have already bought her main presents, but am looking for any inexpensive gifts that may add the extra special touch?
Thanks

I have a young nephew who was christened two weeks ago I bought him a commemorative coin fron the Royal Mint from last year as he was born in 2012. I thought he would have a lot of money boxes etc and this coin might grow in value as it's a limited edition. I did the same for his older brother when he was christened....0

A friend gave one of my children a 'Not The Christening Mug', i.e. a personalised ordinary ceramic mug with a photograph of our dog on it - we liked it and the child did too, while it lasted, although it did get broken some years later, so it didn't last forever as christening presents are supposed to.
I've given classic children's books such as 'The House at Pooh Corner' and 'Winnie the Pooh' for christening presents, which I think were appreciated.Life is mainly froth and bubble

I would second on the books, we got a couple of lovely books (special edition hardbacks) and they are still treasured 18 years later!
I know christening gifts are meant to last for ever but I had an absolute box load of silver money boxes & china bowl/cup sets. I kept them for a few years but eventually they went to a car bootI felt a bit sad about it but I felt they were just wasting away in our loft.
A nice present for a girl is a pretty bangle/bracelet or a charm but boys are much more difficult. Although we did get (or rather my son did) a silver St. Christopher necklace which although it hasn't been worn I thought it was a nice gift to get & keep.
Enjoy the day, christenings are lovely:)0
