  • Morning luvlies, nice to see these lighter mornings. Ever heard of a Chinese restaurant who ran out of beer? Couldn't believe it last night, went for a friend's birthday meal (3 couples), thought it odd that we had to ask for the menu 3 times. Eventually menus arrived then we waited 15 mins to give waitress our order.

I'm very perceptive ;) and thought there's a reason they are stalling us, must be busy in the kitchen. An hour after we arrived only 4 of us had starters. Manager called over, no apology just stated, well we are very busy tonight. By 10 pm, manager came over again and said we have now run out of beer, no draught and no bottles! If you want to leave now there will be no charge for your drinks or starters. We decided to leave there and then and departed to the pub nearby.

I grabbed some take-aways menus from the Indian en route and by 10.30 pm we were in the pub ordering a take-away. DH and I ran back home, got table set and we all sat down for a lovely take-away. All well in the end :D

Off now to clear up - looks like we've had a bloomin party

No, just replying to posts about me which I can quite freely do without the permission of the regulars on this thread who think they own the forum. Seriously it's like school playground behaviour 'do you wanna be in my gang and try bully someone who has different views' :rotfl: .

Aw vicx I'm sure that once you get to know the people on here you will find they are all lovely people, apart from David who is a bit of a bully at times! (he's not really, but don't tell him I said that)
just make yourself at home, and I'm sure you will be made more than welcome :j

  • Ah speaking of the rugby, my DD was having herself a wee sing song yesterday and I managed to catch a wee bit of it  She's normally more enthusiastic, but she was doing a jigsaw at the same time :rotfl:

Just need to teach her Flower of Scotland now :D
So cute! Do keep this kind of thing won't you. It is such a lovely keepsake. My mum died last year, and going through her things my brother found a tape-to-tape recording from 50 years ago, with him, aged 3, singing 'I wish I were a spaceman' and saying "do be quiet doodles" to me as I was joining in by gurgling, aged 4 months. It had us both in stitches, as did the later tape of me conducting a very formal maths lesson with my dolls. I was strict, but they were so naughty!!
I am not young enough to know everything.
