Glad I put some extras in (flumph and apples) - I was busy with kids and 2 shops. There were 5 different Mueller flavours but old biddy put them all through as red cherry! Only just realised when results came through. Thank god for extras !

Indeed, thank goodness for the extras! If I'm instore and on the self-service, I tend to put the same items all together as it is much nicer and easier to check (as well as easier to pack away sometimes). If I'm at the checkout, however, I'm the guy who spaces different varieties of items out at almost equal points along the conveyor, just so they don't pick one up and wrongly assume they're all the same thus thwarting my 8+ items.
You'll find, for example, one chicken soup at the start, then a line of milk, then a veg. soup behind the milk so they couldn't pick up both cans together. Then some different items (perhaps including a pack of Maryland biscuits), separating the veg soup can from a tomato soup can, then another item and, right at the back, and away from the other one, a different variety of Maryland for example. Still didn't stop one SA, on one occasion, getting the variety of an apple I bought wrong and coming up with the wrong price, then 'correcting' it by doing a reduction on that incorrect input rather than putting in the correct apple that compared properly. So the reduced item of the one he inputted, the type of apple I didn't buy, then compared vs a much higher price at my chosen comparator. Only a few pence mind and I certainly won't allow that to happen again!0
