Yes, the IDP came in, in January this year. Florida has made it law. Originally for 'non english' language DL's but has gone through as all visitors. Will be appealed against approx April but if successful will not be required for English written DL's. Haven't got a link sorry but on the dibb board https://www.//flhsmv.gov/IDP.htm https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=677966 Available at the PO for about £5 or the AA/Rac for £2.50 more. Unlikely to be enforced but you can always get a jobsworth, so for £5 not worth risking it. Not many car hire sites have been updated yet. HTH.

    12 weeks today :j:j:j

    HI QPR10.

Simon Calder was on BBC breakfast this morning talking about this, there are only 80 odd post offices in the country you can get one from. He spoke to the Florida authorities yesterday and was told they aren't going to enforce the law on this. (Apparently they wanted to ensure all driving docs were in English, completely ignoring the fact that UK, Australian, Canadian etc docs WERE in English - muppets  !!!! ) (No offence Mad - and happy birthday!)

I think I'd pop along to the right post office though with my £5.50, driving licence and other id such as passport, just to be on the safe side ! Peeps have been being turned away because they didn't have them. In the words of Dr Sheldon Cooper, "What fresh hell is this?

I've got an IDP (got it for Madagascar) but always a handy thing to have anyway.
  • Hi all,

bit of a lurker but I see you have all been enjoying the quidco / TCB snap and save thingy.

Does anyone know if it will work on reduced stuff? we got some Ginsters for 7p at our brand new T£sco's yesterday and was wondering if they would accept this or whether it has to be full price?

    TIA

Just got back in after a drive to my sisters to find 6 letters in my postbox from my building society. Apparently my January payment did not go through and I am over £7000 in arrears. That is over 10 times my monthly payment !!After I had wiped away my tears I Called my bank who confirmed payt went through as arranged on 30.1.13 and was in their account 3 hours later. So called head office and was told there are no arrears.
Now I am livid because i requested they change the terms on my loans on 29.1.13 and was told it would take maximum 10 days but no response on that score but they are quick enough to send arrears letters for non existant arrears.
I was wondering if there is a b/s Ombudsman i could complain to ? I also wrote to them end of Jan asking for the £500 of charges they have added to my account and had an almost instant no on that one.
