Ex partner still on mortgage

Hi - my brother in law is looking to remortgage but his current mortgage is still in the name of himself and an ex partner. When they split there was no financial issues to resolve as although her name was on the mortgage her contribution was very limited. They now have no contact and he wants to remortgage in his own name only. Is this likely to cause any complications as he would not know how to contact his ex partner if she was required to sign anything.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Hi,
He will not be able to remortgage unless she signs the legal paperwork discharging her interest.
There is a process to follow if she truly cannot be contacted, but it is not quick or easy..

Unfortunately opinion from one side doesn't equate to an agreed settlement.
Suggest you trace her down.0
