Northern Rock, been there, done that and WON!!! Its a great feeling getting one up on them - they are horrible to deal with. Run by me what type of loan - ie unsecured/secured, amount owed, contractural payment, length, balance etc etc and will pass some pointers. I went through chief exec and although took about £20 worth of stamps later they caved in. :rotfl:
  • Hi Jase

We have a unsecured loan of 5k,but when we got the balance it was £5,780 we were paying £114.But now we are with payplan on a DMP so not sure as yet how much their percentage will be.
We have not avoided any phonecalls or letters so why are they like this we haven't gotwhat they wanted .Hubby has told them and written to them about this harassment but it still continuing at his workplace when hes not there.

the way I started was via Tony Armstrong, the sort of PA for Adam Applegarth, the chief exec. I didnt email but wrote to him at the Northern Rock main address. 2 days later I got contacted by the head of debt management who was instructed by Tony to investigate. Surprise surprise one 5 min conversation was equivalent to 2 months of pointless letter writing to customer services. I had a £11k unsecured loan which they took to court and got a CCJ and added contracrtural interest of £4 a day even though I was only paying £10 a month so my debt after 2 years was £15k. (They too were the only ones on my DMP that refused the offer and went to court). I explained in my letter that I felt the interest charges were unjust and unfair and agreed to settle for £10k as remortgaged.

Have a look at the following link - gives all the chief execs email addresses (and Tony Armstrongs) to avoid customer services. Be polite but firm in your letter - spend the extra 70p and send it recorded. Best of luck
