2005 Focus diagnostic help!!

Hi Guys, My 2005 focus engine management light has come on but when I do the self test it registers none under DTC so no fault found. Is there a fuse I can take out to reset and see it if fixes it? Had read about an EEC/ECC fuse on older models which would do this but cant find it in mine. Anyone recommend a local (South Belfast, near boucher) garage to run dignostic without costing too much? Also no noticeable performace change when driving although I had a flexi fitted on my exhaust last week. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks..

The DTC code probably needs a cable to read it, you can buy them on ebay.
There is an ECU/KAM (keep alive memory) fuse you can remove to reset the engine management light, you could try that but it'll probably come back on. Think its fuse 26 but have a look at your handbook confirm which fuse # it is.
Best course of action is either get it to a garage to read, or buy a OBD II cable and read the code yourself.0 -
I had a 2007 1.7 diesel and when it happened to me it was a fuel sensor that had to be replaced Hope this helps0

The engine warning light on our 2003 Focus was on intermittently for months and months. Every time we took it to the garage and it got hooked up to their diagnostics they either couldn't find anything wrong or the blasted light went off on the way to the garage and then they couldn't run the diagnostics!
I believe it's a problem with the Focus. We got used to ignoring the light. In the end we got fed up with the car and got shot of it. Needless to say we didn't by another Ford.
It has been said that F.O.R.D. stands for Found On Roadside Dead or Fix Or Replace Daily :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I guess we were just unlucky. Ours was a real 'Friday afternoon off the production line' car. I'm sure your issues will be easily fixed.Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -
