How long should I wait to be paid?

Hi,

I have just recently left my job and I was wondering how long I should wait to get my final pay? I was paid monthly (due at end of the month) and just wondered if I have to wait til then.

You would normally be paid when you leave the job...but it may take a short time to calculate exactly what you are owed in regards to holiday pay. I'd wait until your normal pay day before taking the matter any further.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Disagree, you would normally be paid on your next normal payday.

  • Few employers are likely to go to the expense of running a payroll for one person leaving, so I would expect a final pay to be at the time of the next usual payday. This also allows time for any accrued holidays to be added to the final payment.
