As welcome as all your advice was, and is,I hang my head in shame and admit to having done nothing.I just don't have the nerve/confidence to take on solo travelling.Must have been a moment,I was having!0

Just a pity it wasn't a lightbulb moment. Why should you miss out on so much that travelling has to offer, just because you would be a solo traveller?0

I suppose it is really down to lacking in confidence, primarily, and blend that with, not really really wanting to take the leap!Easier said than done! However I am considering internet dating.Just waiting on someone to post a reputable one!!0

The only dating site I have heard any thing good about is match.com~We are all going to hell and guess who Is driving the bus~*Norn Iron club Member 294* (Hi, we’ve had to remove part of your signature. Anyone on here tried Match.com?Is it one of the better sites from your experience?
Thank you to all replies already.0 -
I met my husband through match.com. It was about 10 years ago though! It is a good way to meet people if your not into pubs etc but you still need to be very careful. I know there are loads of genuine people out there but there are also the other kind as well!! (I'm sure you don't need me to go on about it)
I found it quite exciting checking to see if I had any mails or winks (if someone likes the look of you they can send you a wink to see if you are interested).0 -
I'm in my 60s and have been travelling on my own for several years now, usually within Europe (mainly France, but also Holland, Germany, Italy) I usually just book a flight and then accommodation in an interesting area, and then do my own thing at my own pace - pottering around the local markets, historic sights, museums.
And if I want to sit and watch the world go by, that's fine too! I was never one for beach holidays, and have enjoyed being my own person.
Or, since you're 55, if you prefer to be in a group, Saga do singles holidays (on their site, look under "Special Interest" for "Solo Traveller".0
