Clearing "defaults" off my credit report.

I declared myself bankrupt on 17 May 2005 and was discharged on 31 October the same year.
Of the three debts that were included in my bankruptcy, one (the largest) is now showing on my credit reports as "satisfied". The other two are still showing as "defaults".
I have written to the companies concerned - Barclaycard and Capital One - to ask them if they will re-categorise them as "satisfied", but they haven't so far and I've heard nothing from them.
I am trying to open a new business account and have had a farcical nine-week wait with NatWest, to then be told that my application had been declined. It was declined not because of my bankruptcy, but because of the two defaults?!
Any advice that anyone can give would be much appreciated.
Regards.
Stuart

Wow.
I, for one, would be interested in what the outcome of this is.
Did the OR have anything to say or the CAB?0 -

I won't post it all up, since a link will do.
It is excellent advice, and the letter is one suggested by the 'Information Commissioner' themselves.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks... that link is great! I'm so glad I asked the question. :T
I will post the letters off tomorrow. I may also post a letter to the company that has re-categorised the debt, as they've only just done so, i.e. last month?!
Regards.

Make sure they go recorded delivery. Still only £1.04. The companies have a habit of denying that they have received this sort of letter otherwise.
And, yes, please post back the results as I'm bound to have to do this myself.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
