                    Hi everyone,
I don't post very often but read pretty much daily
I have been decluttering my wardrobe this weekend and came across a dress that fits me really really well and I love but it has a really big cowl neck which I no longer like... Could this be changed to a simple round or slash neck?
I'd have to take it to a seamstress but just wondered if it could be done
Thanks in advance

It could be a bit fiddly but a decent dressmaker should be able do it0

Depends how low the cowl falls. I run my own clothing alterations business so would say this shouldn't be a problem. Just look inside the cowl and see where it sits against the chest and this should be where the finished neckline would sit. Expect to pay around £15-20 per hour for a dressmaker's services and I'm guessing this would take someone around 30 mins to an hour to complete so you would have to weigh up whether that's cost effective. I get many customers who have no idea of time and expect to pay a fiver! (Not even the minimum wage
) So sometimes it's not worth it unless you either really really love it or it was very expensive to begin with. Not very OS I know but it's a sign of the times when you can buy a new dress for less (foreign imports/ child labour etc) Hope this has helped x Grocery challenge June 2016
