Fixed rate ending but selling up next summer...

I currently have a fixed rate of 4.69 ending June 30 with Nationwide, and still owe £50,000 on a house worth £210,000.
I'm getting married next June, and expect to sell up soon after, so if I take another fix, or tracker, I'll pay a redemption penalty of around 2 per cent of the balance.
Am I right in thinking I'd be better off with a standard variable rate?
And if so, do different lenders have different ones? What's the best one?
I get a bit confused with big financial decisions!

You could look at other tracker/dscounted or even fixed rates which do not have any penalties
Ask Nationwide first, but then shop around to see what else is on offer, as you would not need to go onto a standard variable rate if at all possible

ANy ideas where I can look? Nationwide aren;t offering me anything exciting.
To make matters more complicated, I am self employed, but have only been so for a year and so don;t really have much proof of my (rather good) earnings...I am currently working full time as a contractor but no actual contract IYSWIM. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
