Yorkshire Pudding and Pancake Recipes

Hello everyone. Looking for a little bit of creative advice :)

I fancy some pancakes after my dinner tonight and I am also planning a roast beef dinner for tomorrow with of course the obligatory yorkshire puddings.

Now I live on my own so I dont want huge quantities of either and it struck me that as the ingredients are the same then maybe they are interchangable.

So I have 4 eggs, milk, flour etc and wondered if anyone has any ideas on how I could make my pancakes tonight then use the same mix tomorrow with additions if needed for the yorkshires? I think the yorkshire mix should be thicker so not sure how I will do this.

Has anyone done this?

Thank you

Make up the amount you need. Divide into two and make the pancake mixture thinner. Or make a thin mixture and add a little more flour for tomorrows yorkshires mixture.

Personally I'd make pancake mix for tonight and then make the yorkshire mix fresh tomorrow.

Salt and pepper are all I add to the yorkshire mix. Not in pancake mix.

Thanks Rikki. I was going to do that but I only have 4 eggs so need them to stretch to both

Good idea to divide and make thinner I think I may try that

I only use two eggs for one dozen yorkshires so it will depend on how many people you are making pancakes and yorkshires for.

I always leave my yorkshire mix in the fridge till I need it and some do like to make their batter the day before so I don't see why not. Just don't beat too furiously today, mix, divide and then beat the separate pancake mix to suit.

    hi Rikki

Iced bun I agree with Rikki but if I want really scrummy
Yorkeys I may use 3 eggs .....its mothers recipe so no arguing :rotfl:

found this if its any use - you could make them separately then

  • My never fail mix.
    100 g P flour
    pinch of salt
    2 eggs
    150 ml milk
    100 ml water

mix flour salt eggs and half he liquid, till smooth, then add remaining liquid.
We use the same mix for pancakes and yorkies.
Makes 12 yorkies (in a muffin tin)

    Enjoy
    Smile make them wonder
  • One egg, one cup of plain flour, one cup of milk (add a pinch of salt if making Yorkshires) makes 12 Yorkshires or a combo of pancakes/Yorkshires. If its good enough for Jamie it's good enough for me x
