Shift premium payments

Can anyone tell me please, if I work from 6pm until 11pm each evening would I be entitled to any shift payment on top of the minimum wage or is it just at the discretion of the employer.

It really depends on your contract. Shift premiums are not required by law.0

Thanks for the quick response. Its my daughter and she has been employed for the last 5 years working both evenings and weekends just on national minimum wage.
Has just left and due to their bad attitude she had been advised that there were payments she should have been entitled to as she had never recieved a contract of employment.0 -
