Oliva Olive oil Soap. Moisturizing and chemical free.

Hello all, I just wanted to let you all know about Oliva Olive Oil soap.

I've been using it since my 10 year old was a baby and wouldn't use anything eles. We both have eczema and I've found nothing better for keeping our skin in good condition.

It contains no chemicals only olive oil, sponified olive oil and mineral salts.

It leaves my skin beautifully moisturised, and if used with a shower puff you can get a lovely lather up that wont dry your skin. I use it instead of shower gel and as hand and face soap too.

The best bit is that it only costs £1.15 for a 125g bar that lasts for ages, I stock up when ever I pass a Holland and Barratt, but it is available in other health food shops too.

I Highly recommend it and wanted to share with you all too.

Thanks for sharing and the review, I have seen it before but I'm always wary of soaps and being drying, so may try this one.

The soaps I make at home contain olive oil plus a couple of other vegetable oils. Reading your post, OP, I am now curious about making soap out of just olive oil! :)

What's the texture of the soap like, - is it greasy, and is it very soft, does it go to mush quite quickly?

The potential greasiness is what would put me off.

Its not greasy at all. It feels very silky when you use it and my skin feels just nice and normal - none of the dryness that you can get from other soaps. I use it as a lather when I shave my legs and it works beautifully for this.
I can really tell the difference in my skin if I've gone away and forgotten my soap and used something else, my skin becomes drier quite quickly.

It doesn't turn mushy easily. It's quite solid and hard, harder than dove for example. I keep it on a soap dish so that it dries between uses.

Its fab really. One bar lasts a few weeks, and a £1.15 a bar, I think its quite a saving compared to the kind of quality showergel/facial cleanser I would have to but instead to keep my irritable skin in good condition.

When we go to Corfu (the island with more olive trees than anywhere else!) we always buy Olive Oil soap. I like it very much.
