Ground almond&virgin coconut oil-what to do

Hi all!

I've got @250g of ground almond and 250ml virgin coconut oil in my cupboard. They were bought a wee while ago for 2 specific recipes that I can't remember!!

Does anybody have any ideas as to what i can do with these products - they don't have to be in the same recipe!!!!

Thank you in advance!!!

coco nut oil can be used for all sorts of cooking and also cosmetics. A very wide selection of recipes plus some info about other uses and health benefits:

ground almonds can be used in cakes to add moisture, to thicken curries, to make marzipan sweets.

Bet you could make a really nice exfoliant with those! Or you could try cakemix, sub the flour for almonds and butter for coconut oil?

  • Coconut oil is possibly the BEST oil you can use for cooking as it's so heat stable. Tastes divine too :)

It's also an excellent moisturiser, for face & body and great as a deep conditioning treatment for hair.
  • You could make macarons with the Ground Almonds, I have tried to make them many times - I wish you luck if you go go down this route!! ...:rotfl:
Simplify and then Simplify some more!
  • Thank you for the ideas!!

Like the idea of adding to curries - getting into making them from scratch.

Like the idea of moisturisers.....will look into that more

Also - baking baking baking I think!!

  • Have tried some of the coconut oil on my hair tonight as a conditioner. Took a couple of desert spoons out the tub, melted in microwave and popped it on my hair. Don't think it was enough - i have long hair but hey you don't know until you try! I'll see what it's like in the morning when it's totally dry ( I try to avoid using my hairdryer as much as possible as I don't like using too much stuff on my hair - even dryers! Tend to give it a "get the worst off and it's cold" when I do!!!!)
