My 28 year old partner has no pension yet and her employer has no pension scheme for her to join. Can anyone recommend how she should get started with a pension please.

Who's her employer? Auto-enrollment is nearly here and they will have to have a scheme and pay into it.

She works for a small business, I'm aware of auto enrollment but her firm is small so I suspect they won't be doing it any time soon.--

Just checked that link and it says next year so I guess she will have to wait a little while longer.--

If it is as much as 4 years to wait she could perhaps get started with a personal pension. http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/debt_e/debt_pensions_e/debt_types_of_pension_e/personal_pensions.htm

She could consult an independent financial adviser http://www.unbiased.co.uk/
She might look here http://www.cavendishonline.co.uk/pensions?gclid=CJ6vw4bTqbUCFXIPtAoddmQAcw
or here http://www.hl.co.uk/pensions0 -
She doesn't have to wait.
First of all. has she saved 6 months spending in cash (or 3- Isas are preferable if she pays tax). Does she fill her S&S isas too?
She could open a personal pension to pay into until the new scheme starts as early pension contribs have the longest to grow. but I would not say to do this until she has a cash emergency fund. And I would save into S&SD isas (for shorter term needs ie years away but before age 55) alongside any pension.
Opening a PP now will be good savings experience for her, and it will be easy to carry on contributing if her company doens't put in very much.
You should start at half your age in % terms so if she is 28 her overall saving into pensions should be 14% incl tax releif and any employers contribs.0 -
Thanks for the advice.--
