Problem with Contents Insurance post BR

Afternoon all,
This can't just be happening to me so I've searched past threads for an answer but can't find one.
Phoned Lloyds TSB today to let them know of my BR & they have cancelled my contents insurance. I need to find a new one & on the past threads the Co Op & Privilege have been mentioned. Just checked the assumptions that both companies make on the website & one of them is that they assume nobody in the household has been refused insurance before. Since Lloyds have just cancelled my policy I phoned the Co Op to enquire & it seems that Lloyds have 'refused insurance' to me so I don't qualify on those grounds. Privilege have the same assumptions.
So if I have been refused insurance before, where can I go? I don't need to pay monthly & can do an annual payment if needed.
Thanks

Oh dear I went with privilege and no mention of br in the assumption then...all you can do is keep looking or go through a broker, most important you are being honest and you will find someone its better that you can pay for the year that should help, keep in touch0

sorry misread your post its the fact you were refused insurance thats caused you concern, I would call the companys and explain if they don't mind br they should understand why you were refused with your own provider, sorry again just got in ftom work...brain not working!!0

Thanks very much luvchocolate

In case someone else needs to know & this appears in a search, I phoned Privilege who checked with underwriters before accepting me. The premium is double what I paid before as I did market comparison quotes but nobody else will take me
I'm glad its sorted now though.0 -
Gad its sorted now, something else dealt with...see it as a positive!!0
