Yes, this is correct. Do not sign as there have been fears that this signature could be 'lifted' and applied to other documents. I use standard font for the body of the letter and then a 'curlier' one for my signature.0 -
Afternoon all,
Had quite a few statements through, seemed to be end of year summaries even though none refer to our DMP, two of them are from companies who have accepted the DMP and froze interest so I'm guessing they are computer generated.
It's been going ok. Felt very guilty about going out this weekend for the first time since the DMP began. Even though we were as careful as possible, used vouchers etc, still felt like it was money we shouldn't have spent. Oh well guess you've still got to live your life.
On the positive side I did save on food shopping this week and have sold a table on eBay which is being collected this afternoon.
Also a NSD for me and listed quite a few more eBay items. Hope your all doing well, it's snowing here:eek:Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
Working hard to get rid of our debt.0 -
Ohh think I may be getting somewhere with Hellifax! I emailed them one of the template letters regarding interest last night and I had a message on my answerphone at 11am today!! I rang them back a little while ago and the 'complaints' lady was very nice and explained that at the moment I am on a payment plan that wouldnt result in a default being put on my account which is why the interest is still being applied. I explained that I thought we were going to be defaulted anyway, she said that if they defaulted me then the interest should be frozen.. so that sounded good to me, especially since I thought we would be defaulted anyway and surely will be from other creditors?? She is going to double check everything and ring me back tomorrow with the outcome.. fingers crossed! Hope everyone is well :-)DMP started Jan 2013.
Due to end 2018.
Happy to be sorting out our debt0 -

No post again today, which is good I suppose, I spoke with stepchange, they have said lloyds have now refused the offer of payment, after they sent me a letter saying they agreed it, and I am to phone them to discuss as there is a problem with my budget, which I find hard to believe as I literally live hand to mouth with no extras, I don't know if I can deal with lloyds over the phone, anyone had any experience? Are they ok? Or will I get nowhere?
Saturday night tv again for me, I do live the high life... NOT!
Hope everyone else is well, going to try and do some surveys tonight, it is also free listing on ebay but I don't think I have anything left to sell!!!

Hi, I had a letter today from SC to say one of my creditors Moneyway refused my payment offer as they were not happy with areas of my budget and to ring SC. I rung them in a very worried state and SC were lovely they said thats my budget, that is what I can afford to pay, its common for creditors to say this. They would carry on paying and eventually Moneyway will accept the payment!0 -
Hi I have been on a DMP with SC for just over 12 months currently paying £700 a month. Most creditors stopped charges except BC who reduced interest rate. We have 2 accounts with M&S a cc and a personal reserve both of which they stopped the interest on,however on my latest personal reserve statement they have suddenly started interest at 24.9 % again although the account is still in arrears. Took my courage in both hands and rang them apparently its because our payments from sc now meet the min payment required. Have requested info in writing anybody got any suggestions on what we can do. Will never pay the debt off especially if they do the same with the cc. Any advice gratefully received0

Hiya im pretty new to this only just started my dmp, creditors have told me interest is frozen for at least 12 months, until my dmp review, when SC need to send new budget to each creditor, have u had ur 12 month review?
The only advise i can offer is writing to them complaining (theres a template letter on here somewhere) then going to FOS and making a complaint, its worth a try

They are rotters aren't they. I had the same, one account they never accepted the DMP and the other as soon as I hit minimum payments they wacked it up. Grrrrrr. Still worth a try with FOS and will cost M&S even if you dont win so a poke in the eye. Go for it.
Good luck

I can only agree with this, write an official letter of complaint to M&S and then give the FOS a try.
We never had interest stopped on our M&S Personal Reserve and it's been at 24.9% since we started. They threated to reintroduce full interest on my M&S CC once we reached minimum payment, so I reduced their payment so this did not happen.
Being able to alter payments to difficult creditors, and M&S are a constant pain, is one of the main reasons we have taken our DMP to self managed. Even when M&S wrote me a letter suggesting we lowered our payments to save interest, StepChange couldn't/wouldn't do anything about this. The method they use of allocating payments really does not help as it does make you reach minimum payments quicker than other methods.
We did take the M&S Personal Reserve to the FOS and lost. So now we just throw every spare penny we have at that debt and we hope to see it gone by the end of May.LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hi,
How difficult was it to go to self-managed DMP. I've got quite a lot of creditors so not sure it's worth the hassle but I do like the idea of being more in control. Were any creditors in particular that were hard to get on board to self-managedDeeBee0
