I found barclaycard to be really understanding, and have had the most negativity from natwest who always seem really unhappy to help me! I agree totally with HH - you can only give them what you can afford and can't give them what you haven't got!0

Hello all
Me and my OH started our DMP with Payplan a couple of months ago with Payplan. Must say it was the best decision we ever made (can actually sleep at night these days :-) ). Just wondering if anyone else has had dealings with Payplan? They seemed pretty good to us so far and ironed out the few little issues we had.
Anyway, though I'd chime in to say good luck to everyone. Reading through this thread has inspired me to work out our DFD and sell a few bits to try and bring it a bit closer.0 -
hi all, we have been on a dmp with stepchange for a couple of years now but thinking of switching to payplan as think we can pay weekly instead? has anyone done this....dont really want to rock the boat but as wages weekly would be easier to manage......thanks:)0

Thought I'd post an update as its been nearly 2.5 yrs since I started my dmp...so here are my thoughts..
I have paid off £17.000, another £16.000 to go. Its been hard going, I've sort of lost my social circle as i just could not afford to keep up with my friends, who go out 3 times a week. On a more positive note, I make extra money through selling stuff on ebay, I trawl the local charity shops for items and then sell them on ebay for a profit. This has become a hobby now lol. I keep going with the thought of two years from now I will have a extra £700 a month in my bank account after I finish my dmp0 -

Hi dazla, good to hear of your progress. It can be hard going but worth it in the end. Out of interest what sort of items do you buy from the charity shops to sell on Ebay?DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Hi Mr Mink welcome to the thread. I use Step Change so can't advise re Payplan but am very familiar with the being able to sleep at nights scenario!bargaincrazymum wrote: »hi all, we have been on a dmp with stepchange for a couple of years now but thinking of switching to payplan as think we can pay weekly instead? has anyone done this....dont really want to rock the boat but as wages weekly would be easier to manage......thanks:)

I buy original art works, such as small water colours and sell them on ebay. Also jigsaws which sell for about £1.00 in my local charitty shops and i sell them for between 2.50 - 4.00 on ebay, I sell about 4- 5 a week, so although the amounts are small, it all helps.0 -

Thanks, Ebay always confounds me because people seem to pay more for stuff there. Why buy a jigsaw on Ebay for double the price of a charity shop? Maybe I am being dull and missing a trick here:rotfl: Still more profit for you:TDMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Its easier on ebay, it saves having to go out trawling through the charity shops0 -

Hi BCM according to Payplan's website you can pay weekly:)
I'm using Payplan and other than me having to prompt them to send out my extra money to creditors when I overpay its all going OK *touch wood*
I pay monthly so not sure about weekly payments. One other thing is that they don't keep your DFD and total debt owed payments exactly up to date so keep on top of this yourself - I just did a quick check and worked out I'm about £700 shy which has added 3 months onto my DFD! Not the most motivating but at least I know now.
Good luck!0
