Hi there.
Not really relying on it, didn't realise that Step Change would not have the information.
I will follow your advise and request in writing.:beer:0 -
My Debt information was handed, with my permission, to Payplan last week. I am waiting to hear from them. I was told it will take about 2 weeks. It seems a very long two weeks.....business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Finally we are taking steps to manage and reduce our debt! :T
Over the past 5 years our debt has spiralled owing to me being the main breadwinner and being on maternity leave (with 2 prematurely born children). Prior to that we had both worked been spending like there was no tomorrow on various credit cards, loans, hp etc..
We started living off a NatWest Private (Black Account) charge card. In the end we were having to draw £5,400 cash off the charge card to pay back into my bank account to pay the charge card. The cash fees (although no interest) were spiralling each month and we had got into a ridiculous situation robbing from one of the many "Peter's" to pay one of many "Paul's".
Despite me earning over £65,500 I literally had £10 spending money a month after making sure we had paid our creditors each month, with £250 for food, that was it.
Our DMP with StepChange totals £55,959  starts on 1 May (first SC payment on 10 May) and our DFD is April 2020. I cannot believe how much money we will now have to live off, even building a emergency fund.
I am truly ashamed of my debts and look forward to being able to enjoy life, do things with my husband and children and have more positive outlook. I have had some very dark days.
I can relate to all of what you have written, ArtyMiddle, I made myself poor while appearing affluent, it was madness and had to stop, I would runout of money on payday sometimes, and I do feel sorry for 'Peter' I robbed him as well, frequently.Post natal depression triggered it with me, and something snapped inside me.:(
Good luck with your journey, I have a feeling you will succeed:DISA £1675MiniMoohound savings £3685.86 :T Plus £3800 CTF

Good evening all and hi to the newbies starting off their DMPs in May. Well done for getting things sorted :T
Julie67 - congratulations on the job and I hope you'll enjoy it
I intended to send SC agreement letter and documents on Monday, but couldn't find some information I needed (still missing an account number for a loan and not sure how to locate it) - anyway sent today along with a letter to Barclays to close my bank account.
Salary goes into new account on Friday, all non debt DDs transferred have been confirmed and so that just leaves the debt letters to sort.
I've not missed any payments as yet - so first one goes tomorrow, with token payment for May (payment due on 2nd) and then I will follow that up with letters (and token payments) to the rest.
First payment to SC is due to go out 1st June and so now I wait.
Of course I expect to start receiving letters from my creditors, hopefully not calls as I've taken advice and put on my letter that I want any phone numbers recorded (home and/or mobile) removed from the account (so let's see if that works).
Feeling a mix of anxious anticipation and 'sick to my stomach' -but I'm glad all the paperwork is nearly sorted.
Work's a bit hellish at the moment, but at least it's a distraction and OH is not coping very well which is a concern. He had a major wobble over the weekend and I feel I have to keep my wobbles to myself - so being able to post on this thread/forum is my only escape from my self (if that makes sense).
Anyway - that's it for now and I'm off to do a bit of lurking on other forum threads (keeps me focussed).LBM: March 2013 / DMP Start: 1 July 2013 / 14 Creditors
Debt: £80,473 / DFD: [STRIKE]Nov 2018[/STRIKE] June 2018

Hello All
Just wanted to say welcome to the latest newbies and to wish you all the best of luck on your DMP journey.
Good news about the job Julie and keeping everything crossed all comes back ok.
Well done TTFTM on getting those debts down, it is always inspiring to hear when everything is heading in the right direction.
Good luck to everyone else that is still having a few bumps along the way and I hope it gets sorted out.
Just checked out my house and an offer has been put in on it even below what is was on sale for, I will be incredibly peed if they accept it as it is already on sale for a ridiculous price. I shall personally torment the person if they buy at this price for shamelessly benefitting from my financial misfortune.

I get paid Tuesday and will make an extra payment of £30.82 to leave with me £550.00 outstanding.
I will then make my usual Payplan payment of £275.00 on 2nd May to leave me with my final payment of £275.00 due on 2nd June and I will then be DF.
I hope the new joiners to this exclusive club, will see this as a sign that YOU as well can get DF, it may take time, but I can tell you its a great feeling to be so close to being DF !.0
