Nectar points gone to waste?

I redeemed our points against Eurostar tickets. Point taken about not allowing so many points to accumulate in case of theft. I'd have been very upset if someone had spent the points that I had collected for the train tickets.0

What about spending them in Argos?!? Loads of choices in there!0

Nectar may have Double Value spending events this summer. One of the MSE forumates seems to have received an email from Nectar. Search with 'nectar double value' so the post will come second (after this post).
If it's true that's really great (I've been waiting for a decent double value spending offer for years!) but I cannot find any further info on this. Has anyone received such an email from Nectar?0 -
Hi,
I spend mine in Argos & homebase over the Christmas period, and they came in really handy - again, I'm not sure I'd want to let my points accumulate that much. I'm wary of buying gift cards too
think that's as risky as leaving the points on the card. I was caught out with zavvi and the amount of cash that goes unused in the uk that's been put on gift cards makes me wary of giving them.
Failing that, of course you could spend them on something big at a sainsburys superstore - really the only limit is your imagination...

You are lending them £425 interest free - use them!0

Who cares about the 0.1% lost interest? It would be the screaming reminder that I have spent £42,500 at the bleeding supermarket that would stop me allowing such a balance to build up.0 -

Yes I can confirm this, I had an email shot telling me about the rewards doubling this summer but doesn't say which ones but does say underneath what current points will get you in places such as vue, cafe rouge etc here's a paste of what it said, if it works.:)
Save for Double Value this summer
Start saving now and you could get twice as much for your points in our Double Value event this summer. During the event, every 500 points you put towards selected Nectar Rewards will be worth £5.00 instead of £2.50*.0
