Job Centre Skills Training Course

Has anyone been on the 'compulsory' skills training course from the job centre? Apparently its to go over my CV and job hunting skills and lasts a day and a half.
I've done several of these type courses through my employer before I finished work, including one run by RightManagement. I really don't see the point in doing this one. I know how to job hunt, my advisor is happy that I'm doing everything right, I've had an interview and am waiting to hear on another. It just seems like it will be a waste of time.

The courses are very standard, and are for everyone. What you get out of it is up to you.
But..
Putting it very bluntly...If you want the benefit, you do what they tell you to do. Sometimes this means doing something that you may not be entirely happy with, but if you don't go, you can be sanctioned for anything up to 3 years.0 -
Oh I absolutely understand that it goes both ways, I want the benefit, they want to help me, I go on the course etc.
However there seems little targeting in who they send on the course and it just seems like a hoop to jump through. I have only been on JSA for a month, I have impressed my advisor with the efforts I've made and they can't see what else I could do in my job hunt, I'm seeking temp as well as permanent work, and I have had an interview with good feedback. I have done several of these courses recently including one run by one of the world's largest HR consultancies.
Guess I'm just venting and the day and a half will be worth it if I get one pearl from it.0
