Scottish Law question after clearing mortgage!

I live in Scotland and have just cleared my mortgage and before it becomes 'finalised', the Building Society have said that I need to get a letter from my lawyer re the documentation received back from the B. Society, before it actually becomes mine.
Can an expert in Scottish law please advise me about this, how much it is likely to cost and is there a cheap way to go about this please as I know most lawyers are rip-off merchants!
THANKS

Aww shucks...:( I was hoping that someone might be able to help here!!!
Does anyone know anything about Scottish Law or are there no Scots on here?0 -
I was hoping too.
I'm in a similar position that my new lenders (HSBC) are fee free but want me to have a Scottish solicitor to do my new mortgage.
They say they will pay up to £400 costs but would that be enough to cover the total fee?
