I have finally faced up to the fact that my debt has got out of control and I have my first telephone appointment with the CCCS at 3 today. I think Im scared that they are going to tell me off, and also Im not sure what to expect from the conversation. I think the next hour is going to be a very long one!

Hi and Welcome,
Well Done on facing up to your debts. TheRoad to freedom starts today!
The CCCS are not judgemental and believe me that have heard it all before. Noone is going to Judge you as you are taking steps to sort things out.
They will ask you about income and expenditure and will then advise on the best route. Make sure you make a cup of tea before you start as it can take at least an hour to go through everything.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. We are all in the shoes and you will recieve a lot of advice and help if you ask for it on these boards. Once you have done your stuff with the CCCS post up yourBudget/SOA and we will try and help you make further savings. Goodluck

I had my first CCCS appointment a year ago. I, like yourself, was really worried. I imagined them tut tutting and telling me off.
The people at CCCS are lovely and gentle and kind. You will be in good hands with them. My debts are around £25,000 and I could only afford £5 a month for each of my ten creditors. For me the worst bit was telling them how much I owed to so many people. They are not judgemental at all.
I will be thinking of you at 3.
Will you come back and let us know how you got on?0 -
Hi, yes I forget to mention my debts. I had around £49,500 in debts over 6 creditors. I am now paying all but one company £1 a month in token payments .Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 297 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts
