can employer change my working hours for no good reason?

I work 2 roles in one company -role 1 I work the hours 1-5 Monday to Friday, role 2, I work 3 mornings a week 8am - 12.30 pm (and then start my 2nd job at one) and every 2nd Saturday 8am - 8pm.
My manager told me today we wants me to do my 1st role from 10am - 2pm and my 2nd job from 2pm to 8pm. He cannot give me any good reason for this, and its messing up the rota for 2nd job, as he will need to cover all my morning shifts etc, so will actually cause more problems...
I am not happy about this as will find it a problem working till 8pm so frequently - travel etc, and he has set up a meeting to talk to me further about this tomorrow.
Can my hours just be changed like this? He wants to start this pattern of working from Monday, so doesn't even give me time to prepare arrangements.
Any help before tomorrow appreciated.

How long have you worked in the job where the hours are changing?
What does your contract / statement of particulars state?
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
Both jobs are in same place, I've done main job for little over 4 years, and secondary job as well for 18 months.
I Have 2 separate contracts, the contracts though, do not have daily hours on them, the 1st says 20 hours over 5 days, the 2nd says 13.5 hours a week plus 12 on every other Saturday. So if they change my hours I'll be either doing 12 hours or 18 hours a week in the 2nd role (as it'd be 2 or 3 six hour shifts.)
So even the contracts are a bit sketchy to be honest, as what the manager has suggested doesn't fit in with the hours on the 2nd contract.0 -
Go back and have another look at the contracts. Most will have an additional bit about hours somewhere that says something like 'but you may be required to work such additional hours as the needs of the company dictate'. There will often also be a variation clause saying something like 'the company may the terms and conditions of this contract, should this become necessary you will be notified as soon as possible or in any event within one month after the change coming into effect'
You see the problem is we cannot see your contract and so we can only guess what other clauses may impact on the hours clause, and so throw a different light on the situation.
But even if the employer does not have the right in law to do this, but in reality, your avenues of redress may be limited.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
