Matured endowment.

I posted a thread last week concerning a endowment that matures on the 1st may 2007.
This endowment was assigned to the Coventry BS according to the records of the endowment co (CIS). I have basically paid the mortgage loan completely (all but £150). I phoned the Coventry Building Society and according to their records the policy is not assinged to them. The Coventry have forwarded a letter stating they have no interest in the policy. Yesterday (2/5) I phoned CIS who were unable to confirm if they had recieved this 'no interest' letter , "it takes a few days to work through the system" I was told. Today, I have received a letter from CIS stating this policy is assigned to Amsterdam - rotterdam bank- the loan from this company was paid-up about 13 years ago
when I switched mortgages to Newcastle Bulding Society (as it was then).

Meanwhile the cis have just short of £30,000 of my funds.

Has anyone any ideas how I clear this up.

cheers

Get Amsterdam to write to CIS to tell them that there is no longer an interest in the policy and get CIS to write to Amsterdam asking them if there is an interest in the policy still. If you get both sides working, then one will be quicker than the other.

Amsterdam should have written to CIS when you switched mortgages but its fairly common for lenders not to

Unfortunately I have no record of mortgage account number or anything appertaining to that mortgage. I don't even know who or where they are - just took the loan out through some IFA .

The weird thing is, a endowment (standard life) linked to all my earlier mortgages matured back in june 06. Standard life wrote to the Coventry - the Coventry confirmed they had no interest in the policy and Standard life paid me directly, no fuss. This is all beginning to do my head!!
