You don't have to apply to borrow their money.
I don't - But plenty do. Is it only the borrower who has responsibility in these things? Is it a good thing that people can borrow so much then default?0 -

I've taken out different ones for different reasons at different times and never closed them.
Sometimes I want to collect air miles, other times tesco points. One offered insurance on purchases (it doesnt now), two had great LOB rates which I used instead of loans. Can't use those for spending because any new purchases are at worse rates, and a couple were 0% deals that ended.
It's called marketing and choice0 -

Nobody is twisting your arm to borrow more.
People need to realise they are individuals and not some brainwashed puppet.
Read the post - I don't borrow more - I throw the offers away
But others will take up the offer
Others will struggle or fail to repay at all
Just pay a visit to the debtfreewannabe board and see how easy it to get in over your head.
Do peope need protecting? Maybe. Does that make them brainwashed muppets? You tell me. Presumably you are an anarchist - theres no need for any checks or measure in society and everyone should just look after no1 and do as they see fit.
But I dont see that working while we remain social beings - it may be little individual choices but collectively it adds up and affects us all.
I'm questioning the wisdom of just sending out offers of even more credit to people WHO ARE NOT ASKING FOR IT0
