Me and my partner have a joint acc that is getting cancellled this weekend- he is being removed from the account.

Thus we wont have a financial link anymore.

Am i right that if i contact the credit agencies to update their records of the link no longer being there...that in april when he applies for a mortgage there will not be any mention of me on his files?

I have a satisfied default £180 from 2009 and in case he applies on his own i dont want to be linked to him anymore. Things should be updated by april surely?

Just to add- we had an AIP with Abbey in January that showed me as a financial link on his experian and it was approved..this was seen also seen on his experian credit search as a 'first mortgagae application.'..we / he are no longer going with Abbey though.

thanks :D

Link will remain historic. If it was that easy to disassociate. Then system would be open to abuse and fraud.

will he be declined ? doesnt seem fair that we are no longer linked tho? wouldnt that mean that everyone who ever divorced or seperated from someone or seperated financially would never get a mortgage?

even if we complete experian disassociation forms?

Id assume when he applies if it is on his own that there wont be an 'current' financial links, the linked addresses would remain for 8 years i assume but there wouldnt be anything live at this time.

    i dont understand sorry.

Is it fair to a lender that this is an international act with the sole purpose of deceiving them. As obviously there is still an association between you.

not really as i havent made clear or in detail on here about our personal relationship, ie, there is a current relationship breakdown at the moment and who knows if we are going to be together in April. just because ive put 'my partner' doesnt mean i have to go into indepth detail

I and him dont want him to be turned down if he does in the end apply for a mortage, we end up that we arent together anymore. We are cancelling the joint account as at the moment its the best thing.

    its not about deceiving
...still not clear on the answer as a general but thanks anyway
