can you claim ppi back on mortgages????

You can complain about anything you like.
MPPI though has fewer issues than other types of PPI and has a lower success rate on complaints. Partly for a number of reasons.
1 - many are put in place under advice and not a sales process (adviser complaints only account for 0.2% of PPI complaints at FOS - most are rejected) - plus many advisers only became regulated in January 2005.
2 - its the one PPI that is generally regarded as worth having
3 - it is usually set up correctly (monthly standalone)
4 - its not covering some tin pot debt. It is covering a debt with lifestyle changing consequences if it isnt paid.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
