I used to live in a second-floor flat and it took me about two minutes to bump the buggy down the stairs with the baby in it, and maybe five minutes to bump the buggy back up to the top again. If you didn't want to bump the buggy down the steps with the baby in, couldn't you leave the baby somewhere safe in the flat for a minute while you carried the buggy down, unfolded it, and then nipped back up again to get the baby?

Because it takes an extra half an hour. Apparently.

I was given a folding pushchair that had a shoulder strap, so I could carry it. Do they still make this style (my youngest is almost 10)? Then you could take pushchair up with you whilst your LO walks up the steps and keep it in your flat safe at night and do the reverse in the morning.

Perhaps we're being a little unfair. Maybe it does take that long; she's got to fight her way past all the discarded cookers and mattresses.

The tenancy regs will probably say you can't leave it downstairs. I remember an elderly neighbour breaking her wrist trying to get past another tenant's clutter.

It's a pain, but you'll just have to bring it upstairs. And switch to a lightweight, collapsible with one hand type one as soon as you can, as that will be perfectly sufficient to carry a changing bag slung over the handle.

Well, I must say, thanks for all the mocking and abuse!!
I'm a single parent, I didn't have a lot of cash so i bought them 2nd hand and though I was shocked to see it gone, I did not have the time or money to put it elsewhere. Maybe I did wrong leaving it, but I didn't intend to put it there longterm, just so I had time to shift it. I do balance my son, this move, issues at home and my course- try reading my other posts! I've had one hell of a month, just starting to get straight and all I ask if there's some way I can get help with making my pushchair safe so I can get on with my life, is that not a simple request? I don't mean to hurt anyone, I just want to try and have some kind of future again- and this kind of response is unneeded and unneccesary!
Up and onwards to the future!

I dont often post on here, but just wanted to say i dont think it is neccesary to make fun of someone like this. By all means point out that its not a good idea to block stairwells or try to get off on a good foot with new neighbors, but some of these posts are just playground bullying.
Best of luck with your new flat, op.

Don't leave the pushchair anywhere other than in your flat. The communal entrance is not a place to store personal possessions.Either fold and carry or bump it like many of us will have done (when I first left home I rented a 4th floor flat and I had to bump the pushchair up and down daily, including with shopping, books etc and going up several flights of stairs didn't take anywhere near half an hour...)

Do not leave anything else in the communal area or outside your flat. There is no reason for it,it will pee people off, lead to complaints to your landlord (housing association is a landlord- they will have rules btw read your tenancy agreement) and their disappearance does not mean your neighbours are thieves! In fact,it's highly likely the cooker was removed by someone who collects dumped items.Your mattress could well have met the same fate,I would not be surprised.
