partners Previous Bankruptcy

Hi

My partner and due to be my wife soon was declared bankrupt a number of years before I met her.

Will her previous bankruptcy affect me getting a mortgage or credit in the future? Do they take her bankruptcy into account as we live together?

I have a clean full paying up record for my mortgage and other large loans I have at the moment.

Best perhaps to avoid joint accounts or credit?

Nothing to stop you yourself applying for a mortgage.

How long has she been discharged?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
  • All we have is one joint basic bank account but we have main accounts where all the salary gets paid into and we pay some bills out the joint.

All other credit is in my name.

As I earn much more than her I may be able to go it alone.

Unsure how long she has been discharged. maybe 5 years. Although we are looking at waiting a few years to get another larger house so it will be longer by then.
