Where's the best place to buy a new bathroom?

We've finally realised that our bathroom, ensuite and cloakroom need to be updated. We'd like to do the whole lot in one go buts it's a scary amount to spend.

Is it better to go with someone who buys the items and installs for you or to buy your own and get a plumber tiler in?

Also who should we avoid when buying a bath and who has the best items as we don't want to end up putting another one in :).

We currently have the dreaded corner bath as our bathroom is small and has a sloping roof but we would like to change to a bath with a power shower on it and curved screen. Have seen one in Homebase which seems ok but what are they like?
 Stuck mummy of sprog thats desperate for a decent bath :j
Trying to earn £2015 in 2015. Slightly early start ;). £175.88 today.

  • ok, having just had the TINY bathroom (8ft by 4ft) in our flat completely redone, I can recommend a few things.

First of all, if you are simply going to replace what's there - ie not move any of the plumbing around, move the sink or toilet, then it will be very simple.

You just need to buy new items to replace the old one.

if you spend the time shopping around and buying them online / on special, you will save yourself a fortune.

I used plumbworld for a new toilet, sink, and towel rail and they were good quality items and a lot cheaper than elsewhere. The only complaint I have is that there is no telephone support number (just email) and it took a week longer to arrive than I was told when I ordered. no matter, it saved us about 400 quid compared to other places.

Bathroom heaven provided all our taps, shower head, and other bits and pieces - very good items, excellent service, prompt delivery and they kept us informed every step of the way - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Make sure you are buying the right types of taps/shower/size of bath etc...

If you are buying a standard size bath (1700mm long) don't spend any more than you need to get a slightly different style - get a solid and hard wearing steel bath and you shouldn't go wrong.

for a really small bathroom, depending on the size you could go for a square bath - https://www.omnitub.co.uk - nice picture on the homepage :rotfl:

big enough for 2 people and so very deep - we have it and love it.

Bathstore have been recommended to us. They have stores nationally and are also available online. Hopefully, my husband will start taking the tiles of in our bathroom next week!
