Told my OH this morning that I had made a mess of our finances and that we were in a lot of debt. Needless to say he was very angry especially as this isn't the first time I've done this. I feel awful, as if I've betrayed him. I think it would be easier if I'd been unfaithful to him. He wouldn't speak to me and has gone off, I only pray he comes back. In some strange way I feel a bit better for having told him but now I'm really worried about him. Sorry if this sounds as if I feel sorry for myself, truth be known I probably do at the moment, but at least I've faced up to the truth.

Well done for telling him. He will forgive you I think it's more the shock than anything. Let him have time to get his head together and then you can both tackle this as a couple.

    Hi Imoral Angel,

Thanks for that. Without this website I don't think I would ever have tackled this, at least as it stands we hopefully will be able to work through it without having to do anything too drastic.

    Hi Rosie

Well done for telling OH about the debt - I am sure once he has had time to calm down and get his head around the situation he will be fine ((hugs))

Have you had a chance to look at doing an SOA yet ??? Even if you and OH are not great at figures there are some wonderful people on here who are great with them and will be able to help you.

    T xx

    Hi Tashja,

Thanks for your words of support, I really can't stress to greatly how people's comments help, it would be a very lonely place without. It's also great that people don't on here don't judge you no matter how stupid or deceitful you've been. At the moment that's the hardest bit, knowing I have deliberately deceived him.
I am in the process of doing an SOA, I'm not quite sure of all the outstanding debts as I have been destroying the statements after I've made the payment. I suppose the one saving grace is that at least we aren't behind on any payments at the moment.
